Private face blur for photos and videos
Photos: automatic detection, manual control
Choose a JPG, PNG or WEBP image. Preview the detected faces, adjust blur strength, and choose which faces stay hidden. Add a manual area if detection misses a face or another detail you want to hide.
Blur faces in photos for freeVideos: face tracking up to 10 minutes
Use MP4, MOV or WEBM video. Face detection runs frame by frame and tracks moving faces while keeping the rest of the image sharp. Original audio is included. Keep this page open until processing finishes.

Read our privacy noticeQuestions about free face blurring
Is face blurring free?
You can blur five photos and one video per day for free, without an account. Free photos export at up to 1280 pixels on the longest side; free video exports at up to 720p. Free exports include a PrivBlur watermark. Pro and credit packs offer higher-resolution, watermark-free exports.
How do I blur a face in a photo?
Choose your image above. Review the blurred preview, adjust strength, and use Pick faces to change the selection. Use Add area to cover a missed face, then download the processed image.
Can I blur only one face in a group photo?
Yes. Use Pick faces to blur or unblur individual detected faces. The rest of the image remains unchanged apart from any manually selected area and the free-plan watermark.
Does this tool remove blur or blur an entire background?
No. PrivBlur adds blur to faces and manually selected photo regions. It does not restore blurred details or automatically separate and blur a background.
Does face blur guarantee anonymity?
No. Face detection can miss faces, especially in difficult lighting, profiles or when faces are covered. Backs of heads are not reliably detected. Other details such as voices, names, clothing or locations can still identify someone. Review your exports and consider those details before posting.
